About

Dr Lasanthini Weerakkody is an Oral Medicine Specialist with expertise in the diagnosis and management of oral and orofacial diseases and disorders. Her clinical practice spans Oral Diseases, Orofacial Pain and Dental Sleep Medicine. She completed her undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Dental Surgery at James Cook University in Queensland before undertaking specialist training in Oral Medicine at the University of Western Australia.

During her specialist training, Dr Weerakkody engaged in clinical practice at the Oral Medicine Clinic at the Oral Health Centre of Western Australia, along with rotations at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Perth Children’s Hospital and Fiona Stanley Hospital.

Dr Weerakkody maintains professional memberships with the Australian Dental Association, the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons, the Oral Medicine Academy of Australasia and the Australasian Sleep Association.

Clinically, she enjoys practising the full scope of Oral Medicine, with a particular interest in Oral Mucosal Diseases. She is committed to delivering care that reflects integrity, compassion and evidence-based practice, and places strong emphasis on a patient-centred approach.

Outside of clinical practice, Dr Weerakkody enjoys travelling and spending quality time with her family.
